Sen. Rand Paul filibustered in the Senate somewhere shy of 13 hours.
He blocked the nomination of John O. Brennan, on Wednesday, to the post of CIA director.
This was not so much about Brennan as it was about the issue of the White House and Eric Holder trashing 5th amendment rights and condoning drone strikes on American citizens on American soil without due process, warrants, or jury trials.
The filibuster by Sen. Paul was supported by Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), Sen. Mike Lee (UT), Sen. John Barasso (WY) Sens. Mike Lee of Utah, Sen. John Cornyn (TX), Sen. Jerry Moran (KS), Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), Sen. Tim Scott (SC), Sen. John Thune (SD) and Democrat Sen. Ron Wyden (OR)
It was a great day for Liberty as people all over the country and in the world stood with Rand to protest this egregious policy.
Here's some highlights:



Let's hope that this sheds some light on the issue and brings about legislation to end this policy.
Let's hope that other Senators will have the guts to also stand up for the Constitutional rights of all Americans.
Perhaps this is just the beginning of people in Washington taking a stand on important Constitutional issues.
People should call their Senators and demand to know their stance on drone strikes on American citizens without due process!
